Littering is an epidemic in Hong Kong with more than 16,000 tons of waste being dumped in public spaces every day. In an effort to clean up the city and change people’s attitudes towards littering, a city-wide campaign titled ‘The Face of Litter’ has been launched by the Hong Kong Cleanup Challenge and agency Ogilvy & Mather. They’ve roped in DNA technology firm Parabon Nanolabs to re-construct faces of litterbugs using DNA found in their trash. Posters and billboards of these offenders will then be put across the city and online. Check out the video below to know more.
So the next time you’re in Hong Kong, think twice before throwing your trash on the street. Seen a better anti-litter campaign, ever? Share this post and your views in the comments below.
