Most people in Germany watch linear TV instead of on-demand TV, because they don’t like to spend too much time choosing what movie to watch. They tend to just turn on the television and watch what’s running.
Sky offers movies on-demand, and also on linear channels. The restart function from Sky Q let’s you watch movies on linear TV from the start, by accessing the same movie in Sky’s on-demand library. This gives the viewer the benefits of linear TV and on-demand TV.
To promote this feature, Munich-based agency Serviceplan Campaign X came up with a series of clever ads that play on the titles and typography of four iconic movies – Kill Bill, Braveheart, Goldfinger, and Trainspotting. They removed the first letter from the title of each movie, turning them into “ill Bill”, “raveheart”, “oldfinger”, and “rainspotting”. The tagline reads, “Miss the Start. Miss the Story.” Check out the ads below.
1. Kill Bill
2. Braveheart
3. Goldfinger
4. Trainspotting
