The legendary bombshell is still helping Chanel make the big bucks 60 years after a Marie Claire interviewer asked her what she wore to bed, to which she promptly replied – “Chanel No.5” – an answer that established the classic relationship between Monroe and the world’s best selling perfume.

You don’t need a rocket scientist to explain what happened to No.5 sales after that. The interesting bit is that it wasn’t even commissioned and Chanel ended up with roaring sales without having spent a dime! 😉

Chanel recently uncovered the (previously misplaced) audio clip of this interview and has used it along with never-seen-before footage of Monroe for the slick new No.5 commercial.
