This has got to be one of the cleverest ads of the year. Ford Israel wanted to promote the ‘Park Assist’ feature on their Explorer SUV. Their agency, BBR Saatchi & Saatchi, came up with this print ad that uses an optical illusion to get the point across. Stare at the black dot in the white Ford Explorer for 20 – 30 seconds and then move your eyes to the empty parking space between the two black cars. What do you see?
Critics might argue that 30 seconds is too long a time to expect anyone to maintain focus and that our eyes don’t always ‘park’ the car exactly between the two black ones. We still think it’s an innovative way to highlight a feature without the usual technical jargon and clichéd product shots. What do you think? Share this post and your views in the comments below.
