The internet isn’t always known for kindness — but every now and then, it delivers something truly beautiful. This is one of those moments.
Ohio resident and Reddit-user Nathan Steffel uploaded a picture of his 6 week-old daughter who passed away due to medical complications. Since she had spent her entire (short) life in hospital, he didn’t get the opportunity to take a single picture of her without the medical tubes attached to her body.
So he turned to Reddit with a simple request: could someone help edit the tubes out of the only photo he had? The response was thoughtful, creative, and incredibly kind. Here’s what happened.

This is super late but I really wanted to help out too. Here’s my attempt. I hope I didn’t overdo it on the color correction.❤️ 4.2K

I did a paint over for you (painting over the photo itself). I took some liberties with the color, and background.❤️ 4K

I made a version myself. I hope this image finds you. I think every parent deserves a photo of their baby girl with a flower headband. I’m so sorry for your loss. She’s so beautiful.❤️ 17
