Learn In 30 Seconds How To Convert Low-Res Graphics To High-Res In Photoshop
So you’re working on a design project and you have a low-res version of a logo or a graphic that you need in high-resolution. What do you do?
You can vectorize the graphic in AdobeIllustrator, or use an AI Image Upscaler – but those processes can be tedious, time consuming, and not entirely accurate.
Photoshop instructor Unmesh Dinda from PiXimperfect has come up with a short tutorial that shows you how to use the concept of contrast and curves to transform low-res graphics to high-res.
Unmesh uses a clever technique in which he scales up the graphic, applies Gaussian Blur, and then uses the Curves tool to sharpen the edges. Please note that this method can only be used for graphics that have no more than two colors. Watch below.
1. Go to Image > Image Size and increase the dimensions
2. Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur
3. Increase the Blur till there is no pixelation
4. Create a Curves Adjustment layer
5. Take the rightmost slider to the left
6. Take the leftmost slider to the right
