A study carried out by the University of Michigan last year concluded that Facebook causes depression, feelings of inadequacy and a “fear of missing out”. Highlighting this sense of anxiety, Norwegian filmmakers Higton Bros have come up with this hilariously satirical video that’s received almost 3 million views so far. Check it out below.
If the make-believe world of social media makes you feel like a loser, you have two options:
Option 1 – Close your account(s), cry like a pussy and become the kind of person who scratches expensive cars in parking lots to get rid of his/her frustration.
Option 2 – Accept the fact that social media profiles are not a measure of success and people portray a different version of themselves online that shouldn’t be taken literally. And even if they have all the money in the world and the best chick by their side, it doesn’t mean that they don’t have problems in their lives. They could be knee deep in shit for all you know. Stop comparing yourself to anyone and be thankful for whatever you have.
