The ‘Magic Body Control’ on the new Mercedes S-Class analysis the road via a windshield-mounted camera and adjusts the suspension accordingly, resulting in a smoother and more stable ride. To show off this new feature, the German car manufacturer has come up with a super cute television commercial that’s skyrocketed online with over 2 million views, 220k Facebook shares and 6000 tweets in less than 4 days.

Titled “Chicken” the ad features real chickens dancing (with the help of human hands) to the beats of Diana Ross’s “Upside Down”. The interesting bit is that it’s just their bodies that move, the heads remains completely stable at all times (no visual effects involved, apparently chickens are capable of doing this). The ad ends with the line – “Stability at all times, Magic Body Control”.

Excellent idea and execution by agency Jung von Matt/Neckar (Stuttgart, Germany). We’re seeing some great examples of automobile advertising in 2013 (like the brilliant Honda Hands film). What’s your take on this one? Seen a better car ad this year? Share your views in the comments section below.
