The African Medical Research Foundation (AMREF) along with BBH London has put Pinterest to good use by highlighting the plight of (extremely) young African mothers.
Sihiba, a young Tanzanian girl who had a baby at 11 has been given an iPhone and a Pinterest page to record the things she needs in daily life. AMREF’s objective is to raise awareness and highlight the contrast between what most Pinterest users want (designer lifestyle and luxury items) and women like Sihiba who require basic necessities like clean food and water.
