My Mom Had A Rough Life, And These Are The Only Photos I Have Left Of Her. Can Someone Make Them A Little Nicer In Photoshop?
Old photos don’t always tell happy stories. Some just stay with you, even when the story behind them is complicated. A Reddit user recently shared a photo of his mom from her midlife years. It wasn’t a picture most people would frame or post proudly. It was a mugshot. But to him, it still mattered. It was one of the few photos he had of her from that part of her life.
Very Few Memories From That Time
From what he shared, there weren’t many pictures from those years. A couple from before he was born, and one from a few months before she passed away. That was about it. His mother had a rough life, and addiction had changed the way she looked over time. But when he saw this photo, he didn’t just see a mugshot. He saw his mom.

His request was simple: could someone make the photo look a little nicer? Not turn it into something fake. Not make it glamorous. Just clean it up enough so it felt like something he could keep. And people seemed to understand that. Some fixed the lighting, some softened the background, and some brought a bit of warmth back into her face. A few stayed close to the original.
