Swedish designer Viktor Hertz has a knack for turning song titles into visual puzzles. His ongoing series of pictogram music posters translates the literal meaning of famous song names into minimal icons and symbols — no words, just clever imagery that makes you work for the punchline.
Created in Adobe Illustrator, each poster reduces an iconic track to its most visual, often humorous essence. The devil’s trident beneath a highway for AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell.” A brain placed inside a Pong-style game for John Lennon’s “Mind Games.” A rollercoaster looping through a strand of DNA for “Life Is a Rollercoaster.” The concept is deceptively simple, and the execution is consistently sharp.
Hertz’s work sits at the intersection of graphic design, visual communication, and music culture — and it’s exactly the kind of creative thinking that reminds you how much meaning a well-placed icon can carry.
