Nathaniel Dodson from Tutvid has come up with an excellent Photoshop tutorial that shows you five different ways to change the color of any object in an image. These include using hue-saturation masks, blend modes, adjustment layers, targeting a specific color channel, and using the LAB mode to match an exact color.
So the next time a client asks you to change the colors of any part of an image, you can try these different techniques to get the desired result. Watch below.
00:56 – Technique 1: Hue-Saturation layer mask
03:34 – Technique 2: Hue and Color blend modes
06:03 – Technique 3: Converting white or black to a color
09:20 – Technique 4: Targeting a specific color channel
12:34 – Technique 5: Using LAB to match an exact color
Personally, we prefer techniques 1 and 2 for most of our color-changing requirements. What about you? Share this post with a designer friend and voice your views in the comments below.
