To promote life-like images on the new LG 82-inch Ultra HD TV, the mischievous folks at LG Chile along with agency Grupo:Link came up with this incredible hidden-camera prank that’s got over 8 million YouTube views, half-a-million Facebook shares and 20,000 Tweets within a week!
The LG crew created a fake office and meticulously installed an 82-inch ‘Ultra HD’ TV in place of an actual office window. They rigged the entire room with hidden cameras and played a video of the cityscape on the TV making it resemble the view from an actual window.
They then invited job applicants for interviews. While the interview is taking place the ‘outside’ view changes to one in which a meteor crashes into the city. The applicants are shocked and scream in terror as the devastation comes closer to the office ‘window’. The right HD sound effects were used followed by a power cut which leaves the unsuspecting victim alone in the dark room. Eventually, the LG crew comes in and reveals the prank.

Controversy
After the ad went viral online, people on social media identified the job applicants as recognized Chilean actors and claimed that the entire stunt was staged. Wether this is true or not, remains to be seen.
