Online education marketplace Udemy examined the logos of the top 50 companies on Fortune’s “World’s Most Admired Companies” list and came up with some interesting observations. They’ve collated the data into an infographic titled “Deconstructing successful logos”. Check it out below.
Summing things up:
- Blue is the most commonly used color, followed by red
- Sans serif and uppercase are the most used font and text styles
- Rectangular shapes are more common than circular and square
- Brands are switching to flat design for legibility across multiple devices
It’s worth mentioning that this analysis doesn’t imply that a logo needs to incorporate these elements to be classified as a success. A logo should be distinct, timeless and versatile above everything else.
